Who We Are

Goodnight Midstream, formerly 1804 Operating, was founded in 2011 after co-founders Patrick Walker and Robert Ruby saw a need for safe, efficient, and reliable saltwater management in North Dakota's Bakken region.

By 2012, Goodnight had emerged as an early leader in Bakken produced-water midstream services, with three saltwater disposal wells and roughly two miles of pipeline. In 2016, 1804 Operating rebranded as Goodnight Midstream as it expanded into Texas alongside trusted operator relationships.

The "Goodnight" name honors Charles Goodnight, a rancher and Texas Ranger who helped link the Northern Plains and Texas through the Goodnight-Loving Trail, reflecting the Company's own operational expansion.

Today, the Company owns and operates an extensive network of full-cycle water pipelines and saltwater disposal wells that gather, transport, reuse, and dispose of produced saltwater for customers in the Permian Basin, Bakken, and Eagle Ford shales.

Goodnight continues to innovate through out-of-basin disposal in the Delaware Basin, the most active basin in the United States.
